But the 72ED is not a long focal length so images will be on the smaller size. Which one will work often depends on the threads that attach the flattener to the scope - focuser. The dedicated flattener ceased being produced not long after the scopes came out - WO seem to have a habit of doing that. The dedicated flattener did flatten but it also made the scope a bit slower, something like f/6.2, instead of the f/5.9 or whatever it is. This aberration makes star images looks like small short spectras not as pinpoint round small dots. They also can introduce secondary color aberration.
